The engines make sudden movements(somewhat shakes) during idle time and when i release the break; and when I try to accelerate-it's like a car is bumping behind you. After this, the engine light turns on and flashes from time to time.

if this is occurring during acceleration then the components involved may not be the problem
because a motor moves from the reaction to the torque produced on acceleration, I would be looking at the wiring and connections for the position sensors, ECM ,ignition etc
It is known that the wires can break where the motor stresses the wiring, or wiring insulation is destroyed by heat and engine movement then produces a fault that is not always read by the ECM
with the engine idling, try moving the wires and connections to see if you can replicate engine movement and so stop the engine
Sounds like possibly a coil starting to break down and fail. If the check engine light is on it would be fairly easy to retrieve trouble codes which could help identify the cylinder or cylinders that are. It working.
coolant temp sensor tells the computer how hot or cold the engine is so it can regulate the idle and fuel mixture, when it fails there usually is no cooling fan and you will have trouble starting the engine and keeping it running.
Hello there, As far as the check engine light I would think since you mentioned it shacking that your light will probably be on for a misfire, Meaning most likely you have a spark plug wire going bad. I would stop by somewhere such as Autozone for a free check to tell you why your light is on just to double check.
Your fan issue could be several different things such as the fan motor going bad or the blades could be rubbing something, that one is a little tricky without hearing it.
Good Luck and I hope this does help you some. Allen
i just fixed a similar problem on my van there is a rubber elbow on the end of the pvc hose that connects to the valve cover you can only buy the elbow with the hose and it costs about 100 bucks but i guess they have had to replace a lot of these because the new one looks twice has strong you just have to check and see if its collapsed in on itself preventing air movement or leaking the shop will charge you 175 dollars to fix it plus the part but it only takes 20 minutes good luck
we had a very similar problem on our 2003 mazda mpv. at first we were also told coils. we changed all the coils out and the problem came back. we found out that it was a leak in the egr valve and gasket. there was also another leak found after that. when the leaks were fixed, the problem stopped. i suggest checking for leaks in your engine, this could be the problem.
