my friend has an 01 blazer and he has the same problem....on certain occasions the car does not let him put gas in it..not one drop..it just shoots back out at him...it tends to happen more when there is less a half of tank in the car

Yes, the vent tube is either inside or right next to the fill pipe. It all depends on the model year. Did your problem start all of a sudden? Is it only at this one gas station or any of them? Have you had any work done to the fuel tank or body panel recently?

Gas pump shuts off like its full many times while trying to refuel.

Usually a blockage in the filler tube or a vent problem.
You may have to take the filler tube off and inspect it. There should be a tube inside or outside the pipe to allow air pressure in the tank to equalize.

2005 Ford Crown Victoria Trouble filling gas tank. Gas backs up in the filler nck and clicks pump off. Have to run as slow as pump will run to fill.

The tank vent pipe may be blocked or kinked, it usually branches off the main tank filler pipe and can be seen from under the car.

2003 Chevy S-10 Crew Cab slow filling tank which splashes back and shuts off gas pump hose. ? filler pipe problem.

Sounds like the vent is pluged, its either next to the filler pipe or inside the filler pipe, but in any case it will come from the gas tank
( most likely on top of tank) to vent the air thats traped in the tank, when its pluged there is no other place for the air to go but out the filler tube.

2003 hyuandi accent - i have trouble putting gas in the gas tank . It will only put in a little at a time as the gas pump will continue to shut off.

hi from uk make sure you push pump nozzle fully in tank filler as there is a flap just below filler that has to be opened fully to allow fuel to flow unrestricted ?? also considering age of vehicle ? check under the wheel arch along side of fuel filler pipe you will see a hose attached alongside ? make sure this is not kinked or blocked up at its lower end this hose is the ventilation for fuel tank ie as you put fuel into tank you also displace air from tank there for if air vent is blocked ? fuel will be restricted fro flowing hence pump shuts off ? the pipe vent is subjected to dirt from roadway and rain spray due to its location and usually blockage is with hardened mud over time ? hope this helps ? best wishes from n/west uk

Gas pump keeps shutting off when fueling

you have a vapor vent issue. The fuel filler pipe has a vent inside of it to let out air as you pump gas in. If no air comes out, it will kick of the nozzle
The other possbility is that it is a poor design and others are having issues too. Cal your dealer service manager, not a service writer and ask him if there is an issue. Write or email Chrysler and ask them too. If the fuel filler pipe has a sharp bend and goes up hill at all, that will back up the fuel fill. Try putting the nozzle in upside down & see what happens. Also, try inserting the nozzle just a couple of inches. Report back please.

you have a vapor vent tube problem. When fuel goes in, the iar must come out. The filler pipe has a vent pipe inside it. Try putting the nozzle in upside down & see what happens. Try putting the nozzle all the way in & see what happens? Try putting the nozzle in just a little way & see what happens.
Otherwise, you may need a new filler pipe.

2002 lincoln continental when filling gas tank the pump constantly shuts off

This is usually caused by the vent tube on the fuel filler pipe being restricted in someway. If you look under the vehicle at the fuel filler pipe you will see a smaller pipe running down beside it.This is the vent.Make sure that it is not bent or stopped up.
