Question about 1983 Chevrolet Camaro

Needing information and car parts

I am missing part of the breather assembly for my 1983 z28 camaro with cross fire injection. I need schematics to determine what is missing and then a resource for purchasing the missing parts.

Thanks for trying but neither was actually helpful. Noone at the parts stores knows anything about cross fire injections and the chilton book that has the schematics is very rare, I actually found it at the local library. We ended up manufacturing our own plate for the breather top to sit on, thank goodness my husband was a welder and machinist! Now we need some detailed schematics to better show where all the vacuum lines go so we can make nothing is missing.

I cannot help with the missing parts, but i can tell you that there are a whole lot of resources out there for your parts. partstrain.com is one of the better ones.

What I remember is a black plastic part in the side of the switch that the lever snaps into. You may need to get a new switch.
You can look at one in a parts store to see if yours is missing anything.

I have an 83 camaro z28 with a 5.0 305 engine, why does it sputter when accelerating past 30 miles per hour

Could be any number of things. Bad coil or weak spark, low fuel pressure or clogged fuel filter. A breakdown of the ignition subsystems equivalent to points and firing sensors.

You should check EGR by very temporarily plugging vacuum line and see if performance is changed. Sometimes blocked exhaust Catalytics or collapsed muffler baffles will plug up the exhaust and require too much push to clear the pipes.

Fuel pressure? Do you hear the fuel pump running? Read the codes to see if ECM is still alive. Do you have spark at the plugs? Remember all motors need 3 things to run air, fuel, and fire at the right time.
