PS someone installed a starter relay incorrectly, that is why there were 2 wires at the solenoid

The people that answer your question are volunteers and this was not a premium question as you seem to think.... as we are basically unpaid we don't have set times that we are assigned to answer questions. be that as it may i was indeed on track to locating your problem and my crystal ball would not have allowed me to see that the starter relay was installed incorrectly. who installed the relay i'm wondering ?

My 1992 Chevy cavalier used to run at 1/4 temperature gauge, started running super hot so I replaced the water pump... Now it stays at 1/2 temperature gauge steady. Why? Also, how does electric fan work?...

I'm not sure about the electric fan relay or fuse are but you may want to have your radiator flushed. It's possible that some of the tubes in it are plugged up and so your cooling efficiency could be low.

I got a 1997 chevy cavalier which do not want to start check starter is find now tryin to replace the starter relay but can not find it

The starter relay was added as a recall item and is not shown in Chilton or Haynes manuals. You can find it at the very front of the engine compartment, just to the left of the battery, attached to the radiator crossmember..

1996 chevy cavalier 2.2 dont start antithef light is on it does not blinking

I had this very same issue a couple months ago. There should be 2 fusible linked wires on the starter. One or both may be broken. This is by design. Also, there should be a small relay box in the front of the engine compartment near the radiator. This relay is for the Theft Lock System. It cuts off the power to the starter. It is a very simple fix & can be bought for $30 - $40 @ NAPA. The relay is where you should start first.

It is a 1997 Chevy Blazer. I looked under the hood their is no fuse box for a starter relay fuse. I am trying to figure out where it is located. The starter works but the car won't start. We replaced the...

IF THE MOTOR WILL START WHEN YOU JUMP START, THE BATTERY IN THE BLAZER MUST BE LOW. USE A D.C. VOLTMETER, THE VOLTAGE AT THE BATTERY WITHOUT JUMPER CABLES, SHOULD NOT DROP BELOW 9 VOLTS WHEN THE STARTER IS TURNING. THERE IS A CRANK FUSE IN THE INTERIOR FUSEBOX. & A STARTER RELAY UNDER THE HOOD. BUT IF THE STARTER IS TURNING, THOSE ITEMS ARE WORKING. THEY ARE ONLY TO MAKE THE STARTER TURN. GOOD LUCK, DRVOLT.

98 chevy cavalier 2.2....replaced starter...car wont turn over..no clicking...battery ok. car will start by jump starting the starter with a screw driver...replaced fuses...any idea what could be wrong?

Sounds like bad battery cables and/or ignition switch. I would clean battery cables thoroughly with wire brush especially the bottom end since they're exposed to road grime, etc... Also check to make sure you put small wires on solenoid on correctly. I've seen people get them reversed because they're looking at them upside down when attaching from under car. More than likely it's those small wires on solenoid.

98 Chevy cavalier overheating

That is really quick, like you are getting no water flow at all. Make sure that a radiator hose is not collapsing enough to stop the flow. If possible on that model, take off the radiator cap and shine a light to see if the water passages in the radiator are clogged up with rust or sediment. If this started after the new thermostat was installed, make sure it was not put in backwards.

98 sunfire wont start, battery good, replaced starter solnoid, starter, ignition.. please help

if you had the starter recall done, there is a relay mounted near the center of the radiator that controls start power. Pontiac dealer sells the part.
