Question about 1999 Ford F150 Regular Cab
On my ranger the moter that puts it in 4 wheel drive was bad. i thought that the 4 wheel drive just didnt work. after i took the moter off the back of the trany i saw a niple sticking out. it is labled around the caseing 2w 4L and 4h. you can turn that nipple with a pair af vicegrips to any setting you want to make sure it works, that will help narrow it to wireing or moter probloms.

I would try tapping on the shift motor mounted on the trnasfer case as they have been known to stick at times. I would also make sure you do have the vehicle in neutral and your foot on the brake pedal before trying to unlock.
