Question about 2004 Acura RSX

1 Answer

Wont Turn over.

The car was running fine yesterday as far as I know. When I went to turn the car on this morning It wouldn't turn over, however, the car isn't dead. When I turn the key the lights come still come on, so there is power to the car. Its just when i got to fire it up, I get about one crank out of the engine and then it stops trying to turn over. whats going on?

Update: So after a boost the car started fine, ran fine, and I drove around for a hour in hopes that charging the battery enough to maybe get a second start out of it while I ran inside and got the directions to a local mechanic. But no luck. even after all that driving the exact same problem persists. But the fact the car runs fine once started is leading me to believe the battery has crapped out.

I have a 98 Intrepid with a 2.7 engine. It was driving fine on Thursday night. Went to leave for work Friday morning and it wouldn't start. So far, we have tried a new battery, had the started tested,

The 2.7 had alot of problems with the cam sensor. I would start there. Its located on the front top of the timing cover. Unplug it and see if it "Pops" attempts to start.

Not starting

Air/fuel/spark. check the 3, and then do a dummy test. I know , im not insulting you, but my dakota wont start if my gascap isnt screwed down all the way, it throws a sensor and it wont start. So just do all the dummy stuff you know has to be done to start it, put it in park, close all the doors, stuff like that, never know, could be something simple. if not, as above, Air/fuel/spark. need all 3 to start an engine.
