Question about 2004 Mazda 6

Mazda 6 Sport Headlight Leveling

My Mazda 6 Sport has xeon headlights, after having the headlight switching off problem rectified under warranty, the car has now developed another headlight fault.
Normally when the headlights are switched on the beam moves (beam moves up and then down) this is best observed when facing a wall or similar.
My vehicle now moves the beams down and then back up the outcome is that the beam is higher than normal and therefore dazzling to oncoming traffic.
Does anyone have the same problem or can issue a fix, prior to me taking it to the main dealer.

If your car and headlights are off then you will not get a shock. You have to unplug the bulb to replace it anyway so there is no way for you to get shocked.

Low headlight beams don't work but high beams do, recently replaced them

Check the headlight switch, multifunction switch, and the fuses.

High beam indicator comes on with fog lights

Could your Mazda have daytime running lights? If you checked all fuses, did that include the three in the joint box?

There is an auto light-off control module that is central to all functions you describe. It is assumed that you would only turn on the fog lights with headlights on and set for high beam. If you set the headlight switch to LOW, the module closes the headlight relay to turn on the low beams. If you then turn the headlight switch to HIGH, the module turns on the high beams and allows you to turn on the FOG LIGHT switch, closing the fog light relay and turning on the fog lights. Since this sequence is not working, I suggest checking both high beam lamps as both could be burned out. Other possibilities are a defective headlight switch or the module

2001 Ford explorer Sport Trac fuse location

The headlights are not fused, you likely have a switch problem. Pull the headlight switch out and check for burnt wires at the connector hard shell. If problems are found replace the headlight switch and the connector. The repair connector is available from local suppliers the headlight switch is also, both are fairly cheap parts to buy.

How to change the headlight

Open the hood and look on the back of the headlight fixture for a large plastic nut... This is the retaining ring that holds your headlight bulb in the fixture.
If by ' problem with my headlight shining' you mean your headlight no longer works , you can use the above to replace the bulb and that should solve the issue.
HOWEVER , if by ' problem with my headlight shining' you mean that the light is not aimed properly , you will need different instruction on how to solve the problem.

do you have dew or water settlement inside the headlight casing? SOunds like you my have a leaky assembly. if the assembly is not air tight it will cause the headlights to do this.

My Mazda 6 sport has xenon discharge headlights. One of them keeps going off while driving. I can't find any loose connections, and the Mazda dealer couldn't reproduce the problem. Any advice?

I had the same Problem on My Mazda 6 Sport. If you turn the lights off then back on the light comes back on.The main dealer eventually changed the headlight, after being instructed by Mazda that there was a common fault within the sealed unit.
My advise is to take it back to the dealer, and tell them mazda have nbeen changing them under warranty.

1999 Mazda Miata Headlight Failure

Notice how your headlights are protected under the hood by a suspiciously large rubber cover? Miatas hate humidity and condensation, from head to toe, including the headlights. I lost a headlight, was pulled over by a state trooper who told me to change it, and tested the brights all in one night. Of course, the brights worked, because they are actuated from a different circuit on the wiring harness that connects to the headlight through that massive rubber seal. If any amount of humidity or condensation has occurred, especially during a weather change, I cannot stress that enough, the first thing to fail is the normal headlight setting. I was already going to switch over to high-intensity bulbs, so I had a good excuse to crack open the headlight assembly (otherwise I wouldn't dare--Miata headlights are nearly impossible to change with a large pair of hands). I separated the old bulbs from their wires and proceeded to clean the connectors of the wires with an approved electrical connection cleaning solution (go to AutoZone). I then applied the conducting gel to the bulb to avoid corrosion and secure against future problems with condensation and was good to go. Make sure to give yourself many many hours to decipher the bulb assembly, as it was designed by someone whose sole intent is to make the job 150 times more difficult. Otherwise, cleaning the wiring assembly is a cinch.
