1998 CRV WON'T START.
It has spark and fuel.
Cap, rotor and ICM replaced 6/2011
Fuel pump, fuel filter, and ignition switch replaced 10/2011 converter OK.
Replaced the plugs. (Old ones wore to twice the gap) Still no start,
Next started checking the injectors with light and with #4 off cranked engine and it started with rough idle connected #4 and it smoothed out and ran at normal idle for 15 minutes and then sputtered and died but 2 codes showed up P0301 and P1399.
Now it will start and run for only a few seconds.
Have not had a chance to check the compression.Update.

Check compression and timing belt. If belt is ok and you have compression, check to see if you have a pulse at the injectors. You use a device called a NOID light (basically a light bulb that plugs into the injector plug. Unplug the injectors one by one and plug the light in then crank the engine. Light should blink on and off if the system is working properly. If not check for a bad crank sensor, blown injector fuse and wiring harness. Hope this helps.

2 reasons a car won't start fuel and spark. Check the gapping check your battery alternator and fuel pump. To check the file pump have some one crank it to start it while you have the fuel flap open you should hear the pump if you don't it's the fuel pump if you hear it working check your work .
check for spark at the plugs then check for fuel. if one of these are missing the car won`t start. common problem on some of these was the ignition module in the distributor and sometimes the pickup coil wires would break. another thing to check is the distributor cap and rotor for damage like a cracked cap or burnt through rotor. fuel pump were also common.
fuel filter or a fuel pump could also be plugs, wires, cap and rotor I would try fuel filter first then take a plug off a cylinder and hold it close to screw driver or something(dont hold unless have rubber to grip to please dont get shocked) if it doesnt spark your not getting spark and try plugs wires cap and rotor if it does spark then open gas lid have someone turn ignition switch on and listen if you here the fuel pump is still good if not replace it. It does sound like a fuel pump
Also no codes!
