Cant figure it out

First check all bulb sockets for corrosion, dirt etc and spray as needed with WD-40 or similar. Back-up and running lights are a different circuit/contact at bulb than turning and braking.

Tail lights wont work on my 1996 explorer

pull the bulb and check for power to the bulb socket if there is power replace the bulb because what happens is the bulbs get so hot they melt the sawder contacts at the bottom and that causes them not to work

Do you have power with a test light in and out of the switch? Do the turn signals work? Will the brake lights work if you play with the turn signal handle?

Brake lights on my accord 2005 wont work with new bulbs

The brake lights are activated when you depress the brake pedal.  When depressed the brake light switch, which is located on the brake pedal level, allows the circuit to be complete.  Check for power on one side of switch then depress pedal and see if it allows power to other side of switch.  Keep me posted
