DTC P0301 & P0307 Code - Cylinder #1 & #7 Misfire Detected
A P0301 (also P0307) code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #1 (also cyl #7).

Symptoms may include the engine may be harder to start, the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate or other symptoms may also be present. Other tips to solve it in the previous fault code link.

A code P0301 and P0307 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

Hope this helps and just keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Lacks power in highway hills

Hi,

I am assuming that you have no issues with the engine whatsoever, then the only possible areas to check would be:
1. axle gear ratio - to my knowledge a Wrangler would be 4.11 while some Cherokees could be anywhere from 3.54-4.88;
2. flywheel - a lighter flywheel could cause the engine to loose easily its momentum hence difficulty on an a rise.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Have a 97 Blazer. It started to miss fire so I gave a tune up cap, rotor, wires, plugs and fuel filter. It still had a missfire so I took it to a shop and they said I had a bad injector. I replaced the spider...

Check the compression on that cylinder, and the valve springs on that cylinder,it is most likely that problem,or,a crack in the intake,on number two,They will crack under the intake on that cylinder in the oil valley. If this was at all helpful, please rate, and thank you.

Check eng.light on mis fires around town but not on highway had new plugs ,wires fuel injectors cleaned, new coil pack. ect. no one knows the problem, missfires on two cyl,

Your EGR valve appears to be leaking. The valve is most likly dirty or sticking causing the exhaust gasses to enter the intake manifold and causing the missfire. At highway speeds is when the exhaust gas is allowed in the engines intake system for combustion chamber cooling and emissions purposes.
I would suggest removing the EGR, cleaning the valve and have the valve checked.
Good luck.

Will not start after it stalls untill about 5-10 minutes

spray carb cleaner on the intake manifold near cylinder 1... common problem is the intake manifold gasket leaks vacuum causing a misfire...the not starting could be due to a faulty crank sensor
