If you hear the clicking noise when you move the temp. control on the a/c control head,it is most likely your blend door motor. The motor is located on the evaporator housing itself. If I remember correctly, its right behind the radio and a/c control head in the center of the dash.Gool luck

Easy fix. Anyone with a 5/16 socket can do it. You'll also need the tool to remove the radio (google it). Remove the radio, remove the lower trim skirt under the ash tray/cup holder. Google for a pick and you'll see it. A little tight but I got the four mounting screws out with my big hands in about 20 minutes. Unplug the connector. DON'T LET A MECHANIC TALK YOU INTO THE DOOR FLAP BEING BROKEN! This is rare. Here's how you ckeck it... Pop the cover off the actuator with a flat head screw driver. You will probably see pieces of gear in the grease. This is a clue. Take out the long nipple that operates the flap. Stick the nipple back in the hole and move it back and forth. If you hear the flap open and close, it"s not broken. I actually had my van running and the air on and could feel the heat then cool air. 20 minutes to take it out; 30 or 40 to put it back in at a cost of about $40.

NO HEAT STUCK ON AC HEAR CLICKING IN CENTER CONSOLE

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

2003 ford explorer no heat and clicking in dash board

Clicking sound is your blend door actuator stripping it's gears and failing to open the door that directs the blower air through the heater core. Follow the sound to the actuator and remove it. Install a new one. You may have to remove some panels to get to it. The part is shown below and costs $32 at autozone. Please let me know if you have questions.

Loud clicking noise from dash whenever heat

I have and 2002 with rear air and had the same noise and problem in the back. There is motor in the back that moves a flapper door open and closed to blend the hot and cold. The motor has plastic gears in it and they strip out making a clicking noise when the motor cannot hit the point that the heat control dial is being set too. Probably the same set under the front dash. You will more than likely need to by a new motor assy.

I have a clicking that almost sounds like a drumroll when i start my vehicle, it also happens when i adjust the Climate control temperature from hot to cold, but not from cold to hot. Ive been told...

It sounds like the heater box to me. There is a vacume modual that closes the heater box so you can run the ac or just put the controll on cold air.Lay on the floor and you should be able to pinpoint the noise and replace whatever is broke.

Clicking noise when the circulation button is not on

I have the same problem...found where the noise is coming from, but don't know how to fix it. If you completely take out the glove compartment box you and you have the air on and push the circulation button off while watching that area, you should see what is making that noise. It is some type of filter I think.
