Question about 2000 Cadillac Seville
Blows hot air
Service Stability Sys message
ABS/Traction Control lights stay on
Codes that come up --- All are current, not history
SOURCE: abs light/traction control light
You can check out what the trouble code is by pushing and holding the information button and the up arrow (right side of instrument cluster above the radio) until all the instrument clusters light. Press the information button (last) to enter test mode. I've had an error C1234, meaning Left rear wheel sensor fault. I found the problem to be a corroded connector under the chasis just under the rear left door about 2 feet in. I had to by-pass (replace 1 wire due to corrosion at the connector.

The stability and ABS systems will definitely be affected by wheel speed sensor.Get the wheel sensors checked. ---------- But as you mentioned this light comes ON, that means there is a error code saved in the system.First of all, you need to retrieve the error codes.Once you retrieve the codes, then only as per codes, it will point out, what the actual, fault is.In some cases its ABS module, that is faulty. In some cases its speed sensor faulty, in some cases its ignition switch issue. But directly going and replacing parts,is not advisable.First retrieve codes. Then get the following parts checked as per the codes.-------- For exact procedure to retrieve codes, please click the link below and read the instructions:---- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/abstraction-and-service-stability-light.html ------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Whenever this warning or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module has detected a fault, it then disables the system as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)
