Yes,it's got a fuse. At least 15 amp, probably 20. So look in fusebox for blue fuses and amber fuses that are blown. You have probably got an auxiliary plug-in below the dash and to the right of the hump .....I went for a while before I discovered that one in my Grand Marquis.Ha! don-ohio (:^)

Cigarette lighter ans accessour power point not working... it's not the fuse

I had a similar problem I thought it wasn't the fuse because I had only checked one but there are two cigarette fuses. Also you can replace the whole cigarette lighter if it is getting power to it. If it isn't there might be a bad wire leading to it. Get a test light to see if it's getting power through the fuses hole.

Why won't my cigarette lighter work?

if the fuses re good then you will need to remove the lighter and check for power behind it. some lighters have a fuse link built in and if thats blown will need to replace the whole lighter assembly.

Neither lighter outlet works on my 01 allero, just bought it used so don't know if and when they did work! Help..need to charge stuff!!

You have options there. First use a test light and probe the center terminal of the outlet. If it has power, check the ground on the socket. If no power, check the fuse. (if you have no diagram, probe all of them and replace any that don't have power at both ends with the key on, and replace any that are blown. the one you are looking for is usually 20 or 25 amp). Your other option is to create a new circuit. To do that, find an open fuse port that only has power with the key on. attach a wire (close to 14 gauge is best) to a spade connector and plug it into the fuse connection that has power. Run that wire to the connector at the rear of the accessory port (lighter housing center post). If you do that, make sure you install an accessory fuse holder in that wire that is rated at 25 amps. I use that method to install additional ports so you don't have to plug in one of those "octopus outlets" in a working power outlet. Only difference is that I also install a new lighter housing into the dash. That requires a new hole in the dash or console and a ground wire to the outside of the housing.

I have a 2006 f150 6 cylinder i cant get emissons done because cigerette lighter dosent work which fuse is it

There is no fuse for the lighter.I would try replacing just the lighter itself. Also check to see if there is power to the receiver that you plug the lighter into. If you don't have a "stab light",you can get one at your local parts store.Clip the aligator clip to a known ground, then touch the center contact and the bulb should light up.

Trying to find fuses for cigarette lighter

it should be in the fuse box under the hood or under the dash, if you can't find it there it may be at the back of the cigarette lighter itself, if the cigarette lighter isn't working it may be the element, try plugging something else into the socket to see if there is power there....hope this helps.....cheers

Cannot locate where the fuse is that controls my cigarette lighter in front console and the passenger back seat. The lighter in the very back of my vehicle works. I want to replace the fuse. My lighter...

Hi, that fuse is in the box under the hood. See pic below. I think it's fuse 32. Fuse 45 also powers those outlets but also power a lot of other circuits. The fuse for the outlet in the very back of the car is on the interior fuse panel, #14. All of this information is in your owners manual. My cigarette lighter inmy 1996 VW Jetta doesn't work. I'm trying to find the fuse

Many cig lighters have inline fuses. The fuse is part of the wire going from the lighter to the power source. It typically looks like a small white tube and can be opened by gently twisting and the pulling apart. Before you do that are you sure its' the fuse? The coil in lighters frequently burn out. Try a lighter from a similar car or plug in a cell phone charger to see if your getting power to the lighter housing. If you have power you can get a replacement lighter at most auto parts stores for a couple of bucks.
