Both the backlight for the radio and the air conditioner have burned out. I'd like to replace the lights myself.

Yes, the clock back light can be changed but unfortunately you have to remove the entire instrument cluster to do it. This can be done yourself. First order the clock light bulb from Honda (not expensive). Then get a Haynes Repair manual from an auto parts store (<$20) and a trim panel removal tool. Follow the procedures for removing the instrument cluster trim panels in chapters 11 and 12. Take your time and be patient with the panels to avoid breaking off attachment hooks and clips. The most difficult part of the job is getting the steering column trim covers off.

On 2001 Odyssey there is not light for the clock. It came from the factory that way.

  • jcherin Aug 28, 2011

wrong. there is a back light on the clock -- always on...and burns out easily.

  • gwjohns45 Nov 15, 2013

If you had a light on this vehicle it was put on after factory. Our dealer want us to pay a few hundred dollars to do it and we did not do it. After 2001 I do not know if the clock has a light.

2001 honda odyssey abs and tcs light is on after changing front brakes

You must have damaged a wheel speed sensor. You now need to have the dealer scan the system and verify that I am correct. Don't throw parts at it, get it diagnosed.

How do i turn the clock light back in? I lost my manual and know it is easy because i havedone it before, i just cant recall how to.

The clock back light comes on when the ignition key is turned to on. If the key is on and the parking and/or headlights are turned on, the clock back light becomes controlled by the instrument lights dimmer control knob on the left side of the instruments panel under the tachometer.

The clock back light bulb does burn out and is very difficult to change because the whole instrument gauge cluster must be removed for access. Many people I know who have purchased pre-owned Odysseys are under the impression that the clock does NOT have a back light for this reason.

Hello i have a 2001 honda odyssey my engine dies after awhile i drive it so what i do to to get running back again is for me to take out the fuse fuel pump from the kick panel on the driver side and it...

My 2001 Honda Odyssey would completely lose power, foot on the gas pedal and nothing there. There were no warning lights prior to the losing power. After letting the car set for a few minutes it would start and run okay. This happened intermittently over a couple of weeks until finally it didn't want to start at all. When turning the key the car sounded like it wanted to start but wouldn't. After a quick trip to the closest Honda dealership and asking a few questions we were told that it sounded like the main relay needed to be replaced. They showed us where it was located on the Honda, we bought a new one and we easily installed it ourselves. The old relay did have a slight burned smell. My Honda is working fine now and it has been over a week with no problems. I hope this helps someone else.

Changing brake light for 2000 Honda Odyssey

I believe that light is accessed through the inside of the trunk.Remove the carpet from the back of the light housing & you will most likely find a bunch of plastic wing nuts that hold the taillight assembly on,remove them & push the housing out carefully, then the light bulb just twists out.
