Audi A4 2001, Both front elec windows packed up, central loking operates whilst driving, interior lighting has a mind of its own, internal door lock/unlock switch inoperative. Any clues?

I've got the same problem, 2001 Audi A4 1.6 petrol, electric windows/wing mirrors/central locking switch on drivers door just stopped working. I've checked all of the fuses....all ok, also removed the inside panel of the drivers door and reseated all electric connectors to the window motor controller.....still no joy! .....any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.

Folks, Just found my problem ...... There's a flexible conduit (corrugated rubber sleeve) between the driver's door and the door arch which contains the wiring loom for the drivers door central locking/door speaker/electric windows/mirrors etc....discovered when I slipped off the sleeve that 4 cables in the wiring loom had broken due to repeated flexing when drivers door was opened/closed over the years (2001 Audi A4). Resoldered broken wires and insulated same....now working better than ever again ...ie dashboard back lighting seems brighter than it had been for some time? Also drivers door loudspeaker is back in action again (hadn't noticed that it had gone).
It's kinda difficult to reseat the rubber sleeving correctly after the repair job...will probably use some silicone sealant on the sleeve to ensure that there is no water ingress to wiring loom afterwards. I'm not too impressed with Audi design people after that, should have used cable that has a better flexibility rating (esp on drivers door!).

Paul.

VW indicator unit on wing mirror

Ok very carefully pull off the mirrior blade. The mirrior blade is clipped but EXTEMELY fragile and will break if forced. From there remove the 2 heated blade wires. The cover is also clipped as you will notice after that is removed. You have to pry with a plastic tip between the cover and hosing near the body of the car while pulling the clips in the housing you see to lift the cover straight up. Once this is done you'll need a t-10 torx screwdriver to remove the lower portion. These screws are when you're looking straight down. With this assembly off you can access the 2 other little screws holding the flasher to the bottom cover. Remove the wires and the little clip and there you go. Installation is reverse.

Replace passeger mirror on 2001 taurus

ok this is very simple.
1. On the inside of your door there is a plastic cover with what looks like a patch on it... pull the patch out.. now you will see on of two things either there will be a bolt there that you can undo to either take off the mirrior or the bolt will take off the cover.
from there once you have the cover off if thats what it took off than you should see at least 2 more bolts or screws holding the mirrior on... undo those and you should be good to go...
