Question about 2000 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Electrical problem My car has 102,000 miles. The fuel gauge was first to not register right. Really whacked out. Then the idiot lights would come on while I'm driving. Next the radio would turn off. Then the windows not intermittently work. If I played with the driver side window switch things would return to normal for a while. Now; the idiot lights don't come on with I first start the car. It may not start without trying two or more times. The radio still turns on and off regularly. Now my headlights won't stay on? Please help. I do have some mechanical ability and electrical knowledge. Everything in my car is power and I am baffled by the number of fuses under the hood and under the back seat. On yeah, there are two relays on under the back 39,40 seat that buzz when I try to start the car. Any help would be appreciated.

I have approximately 103,000 miles and the gas gage is also reading wrong. Was quoted approximately $600.00 to $700.00 to repair. Is repair of the sending unit something that GM might have a recall on. I know several other people with the same problem on the Buick LaSabre plus the power windows not working. I have had one motor replaced and now another one has gone out. Repairs on these small items are running more than the car is worth.

The gas guage is the sending unit in the fuel tank, the other issues are caused by a defective BCM, body control module.
