Question about Volvo S40

The sun visor of my car, passenger's side keeps drooping down and will not stay up? It seems that its ability to stay up and out of the way is no longer. I wanted to know if it could be fixed or should be replaced? Thank you very much Ed

I am still working on it myself. But do not use self adhesive velcro as it gets hot in the car and the adhesive will melt and loose its grip. Unless you can find some high temp velcro (to be clear - i know of no such beast )

There is a headliner adhesive that you can purchase to fix this problem. But, it only applies to the fabric. If you are having a problem with the backing as well, it would be better to replace the whole kit..

How to replace 2007 Kia Sportage sun visor

I forced a small nail between the visor rod and the tube (or whatever) the rod goes into in the visor itself. That created enough tension or drag to hold the visor and keep it from drooping. The visor now works in all three positions.

The sun visor on the drivers side droops down. Other than replacing it, how can I repair it so it says up?

Screw a small self taping screw just inside the hinge pivot. this can help tighten the visor to the pivot.

Passenger sun visor falling down how to tighten up the visor?

IF there's no lite IN the visor, you can sometimes slide the visor off the shaft by moving it up and down while pushing it to the side with it NOT in the rest. Then if your lucky, squezze the pocket in a couple places with pliers to kinda crimp it. Then put it back. If you have lites on it, then you need a new one or put some velcro on the headliner and it to keep it up when not in use.

The driver's sun visor won't stay up, it falls down

Already reported as being a repetitive problem with Murano vehicule owner eventhough they have it alreay replaced.
You can fight as long as you want with your dealer that this is a security issue no recall has been expressed about that so far.

I can say that some people switched the passenger side one with the driver side with little of convenience. I can't say more personnally.
The permanent fix being approx $250 unless you get it one in a scrap yard not knowing how long will be its life time! Up to you to make the decision.
Hope it will help
Dan

I have a 2003 Murano that just started having this problem a few weeks ago. As a quick fix, my husband and I switched the driver's side sun visor with the passenger's side sun visor (yes, everything is backwards now, but it's a minor inconvenience). It was very simple to do, and only took about 5 minutes. The cover pops right off to reveal two screws that hold the unit in place. Anyone could do it.
Meanwhile, we are searching local junkyards to try to find a replacement to avoid having to pay $250 (+) for a replacement visor. user_offline.gif

Bring it back to the dealer. That happened to mine and they replaced it. Also had problems with the drivers seat. It would not go back & forth. Dealer fixed.

Sun visor on driver's side won't stay up or all the way down. 2006 Sonata

This works on any visor. Obtain a small clamp as used in wiring harnesses. On the shaft end of the visor, 1/2 inch from the end, install the clamp around the visor and the shaft. Drill a hole through the visor for the clamp screw and tighten as needed. I might be a redneck, but it works!!
