I have a 1989 mazda 626 turbo, and the window washers dont work. It doesnt spray any water when i try but the blades still work. Also my petrol gauge is faulty. When i fill it to the full it doesnt show up that i put it in and every so often it goes from right down to empty when its full or to the middle but it never actually shows how much petrol i have. What would be the problem there? Also do you know what other problems i should look out for?

Re: 1989 mazda 626 turbo window washer pumps
Well the pump for the washer solvent is probably fried (unless there is no solvent in the resovoir). and on the gas gauge the way that works is there is a little float handle that goes up and down with the gas. when you put gas in this little float floats on top of the gas and this is how your car knows how much gas you have it sounds like it is getting stuck and will probably need to be replaced

open your hood and get close to your washer fluid reservoir and make someone pull washer switch for you if you dont hear any reaction from you fluid pump locates around reservoir means you need to replace that little pump if you hear pump is working but dont spray check clugged spray nozzles or leak some where between reservoir to nozzles inspect lines and check washer system fuse!
Not sure if you checked or not, but did you check the switch itself? Even though the wipers work with the switch, it can still be bad. If this helps let me know, if not I'll be here for you until it works! Take care and best wishes to you.
Hi am just up the road on the SSC, it is easier to remove the alternator from underneath the vehicle & if you look under the carpet under the rear seat there is a plate which gives you access to the fuel pump cover in the tank. The pump can be accessed from there. If you want the workshop Manuals I have just uploaded them.
You can download the GD 626 Workshop manual & the Turbo supplement by going to the 626.net site.
