Thanks for the great info. I will tell her to get second opinions in the future if she continues to use the Firestone repair business. There was one question that I didn't feel you answered. They told her that she would soon need a Rear Wheel Alignment. I have never heard of that other then AWD or independant suspension. The car is front wheel drive. They told her that the rear alignment was slightly off. They went so far as to show her a printed sheet with "the info" on it. Is that possible? Is there a rear wheel alignment on that car? Thanks again for using layman terms.

Re: 2001 buick century
Rear wheel alignments are done only if there is excessive wear on a portion of the tire it's not a real matter of how the vehicle turns or handles. most often times there is a tolerance of +/- 1/8 from center. if you need any other questions answered just click on my user tab. don't forget to rate my help to you...thanks

If u hear rattling noise when first starting. Also a new water pump and guides is recommended cause new chain will wear out the old. Git an xperiencd mech cause some wont aline the tining rite...if car doesnt run good...it may b off a tooth
Not all radiators have them, just remove the lower radiator hose and spray hot water through it from the top till it comes out clear, usually works better anyhow... Note: if your coolant is nasty and all brown and gummed up its cause you have a leaking intake gasket and oil is mixing with your coolant,, if this is the case you may have to replace the radiator as well as the gasket on the intake..
Sounds like a problem with the "Drivers side temp actuator motor".
Each side has a motor that controlls the temp. door inside the dash for the driver or passenger side. These motors are approx. $75, plus 1 hr. labor to install. See more info here... http://www.greatautohelp.com/more-buick-questions.html
first of all firestone are rip off artist. you got suckered. next there are struts on the back and yes you should align them however it has more to do with how the tire wears than a steering issue. with only 12,000 miles I seriously doubt there would have been a problem. my solution would have been if one of the front tires was bad i would have replaced it then took the 2 back tires and put them on front and the new tire and other front tire on the back and no alignment would have been needed unless your girlfriend would have complained about it tracking one way or the other. feel free to click on my user tab anytime you need help.... please rate this.........thanks
