Question about Honda Civic

1 Answer

I have a 1998 Honda Civic, Green color, which the paint is peeling off, or actually the white code is gone. I have noticed most cars of the same make/color built on the same year all have the same problem. Is there a solution to this problem.

Yep get rid of your honduh and get a toyota, My girlfriend has had two almost identical all had the same problem, the second one seemed to not spread with regular was and wax with a quality wax, I have OCD so I always use a cleaner then a sealer, polish and wax in that order about every third wash, and it seems to have helped other than that I don't know what else you could do other than re-paint

Ford will not assist on a 1998 vehicle because of the age.
You can primer and spot paint but it would probably do better if you sanded it down first.

Paint peeling on my ford f-150

Yes there was a couple of manufacturers who had that problem over the years, I've heard everything from wrong primer, different coating on bare metal before priming, to improper prepping of bare metal before primer, but either way, a good body shop will know how to deal with it. There was some of the manufacturers that were giving warranty on these for first owners, and some even covered second owners, but my guess is that your out of that range for one reason or another if not time itself. if your going to re-do the tailgate yourself, do your best to take it down to bare metal and prep it properly before you re-finish it.

I dont know wat model civic i have =/

In the door sill on the drivers side, there should be the model description, as well as body, trim, and paint color codes. If not, the dealer can tell you based on the last 8 of your VIN.

Paint peeling on my ford f-150

I have actually fixed these trucks under warranty. The EPA is the root cause of this, and lack of testing the newer system, this problem is pretty much of the past as the newer vehicle have a better system on them to complie with EPA regs.

I have a 1999 accord that the clear coat is coming off

hi the only soloution to the top coat peeling is a complete repaint as the top coat is not bonding to the base coat due to bad preperation with is done before you start to paint its a bit like when you paint somrthing at home and can,t be bothered to clean and rub down the old paint work then when it peels yougot to do it again sorry no short cut here any one that says there is is going to do a shoddy job and it will peel again yates210456
