My brake petal used to make a click noise when i steped on it to shift out of park. Now it does not and it is stuck in park , Unless i stomp on the petal 4 or 5 times , Then it will shift. Maybe a break sensor out or something?
First have somebody check if the brake lights at the rear of the van are working when you apply the brake pedal if they dont its a fuse for the brake lights if they do work its more than likely a shift lock solenoid

it sounds like a shift lock solinoid ....this prevents the car from being shifted out of park when ur foot is not on the brake....u will have to bring this to a repair shop since the faulty part is located inside the paneling where ur shifter handle is
This will require the help of a assistance. With the engine turned off, set parking brake . Have your assistance turn the key to the on position (motor off) and turn the 4 wheel drive switch to 2 wheel, next apply brakes and shift vehicle into neutral. While your assistance continues to hold brake petal on crawl under your truck and locate the transfer case. on the back side of the transfer case there is a electric motor, using a hammer moderately rap on shift motor (ON the area of the motor its self) If you now hear it shifting and it shifts back to 2wheel drive your transfer case motor needs replaced. thanks for using fix ya
it has a shifter interlock that will not alow it to shift out of park without depressing the brake petal either you have a malfunction at the brake or the inter lock servo or cable is failed or broken depending on what car you have you can pobably disable the system or repair it also be sure all you fuses are good if it has a servo a blown fuse will disable it1
