Remove the fuel pressure first, start the car and remove the fuse to the fuel pump, it's the simplest way, go buy the regulator, remove the two fuel lines first then remove the vacumn line and the two bolts that holds it to the head, when installing just reverse order. Part Number: 800-333 ,

Is the fuel pump fuse located on the drivers side under the steering wheel? When I install the regulator, do I put the fuse back in and then put the vacumn line back and then the 2 fuel lines and bolts?

Sorry just pull the relay,The relay is in the drivers side kick panel. You have to remove the inside kick panel covering the wiring around the fuse box. On the edge of the metal next to the kick panel, closer to the door, is a green relay that is fasten to a piece of metal next to the metal border. That is the fuel pump relay remove it.. like I said, install in reverse order, the relay/fuse will be first to remove and last to install.

I have 88 300zx thats cuts out when under load going up hill etc, changed plugs, wires, rotor, cap, fuel filter, what may be the problem

Check your fuel pressure because it sounds like your fuel pump is weak. With the engine running and the pressure regulator vacuum hose disconnected it should be 37 psi.

My 86 300zx starts then shuts off

Hi,
check the fuel rail for correct fuel pressure. If the Pressure regulator is faulty, the fuel pump will send fuel to the fuel rail, but it will be dumped back to the tank if the pressure regulator is bad, The fuel needs to be pressurised to go through the injectors and into the cylinders.

Good luck.

I have a 92 300zx and when the car sits for 4 to 5 hours it is very difficult to start up. I check for fuel n spark n have both. I changed the fuel pressure regs on the top of the motor and I don't know...

I would have to know the condition of the ignition components and run a full diagnostic scan to verify the effectiveness of the sensors and fuel pressure. Be sure to check all vacuum lines and reservoirs. The quality of fuel is also important as those engines are prone to carbon buildup.

My 300zx idiling n starting problem

As a quick test,fill-up the tank and do not top off.

Monitor the starting problem.

If you're starting OK until BELOW 1/3 of the tank then it's a weak/failing fuel pump + filter filter.

A fuel pump will perform poorly when it's low on fuel.

An old fuel filter will reduce the fuel pressure and cause the fuel pump to work harder.

Also check the gas cap for deteriorating plastic seal.

My nissan 300 zx cilinder 2,4,6 over fuel and dont work pleas help

have your fuel pressure tested as the fuel regulator can be defective this regulates the fuel pressure in the system. check that the return fuel line is not blocked. disconnect the cold start injector when starting and this ilimunate over fueling non start up.

check items in your fuel lines first, filter, pressure regulator....could be anything running down that line, don't waste your money on a fuel pump until it's the last option

Nissan 300ZX Fuel problem

I had an 82 280zx and now a 90 300zx, in both cars the fuel pump relays were located in the engine compartment, in the fuse boxes, as long as you can read the covers over the fuses, they are clearly marked.
2nd no fuel at filter would either be faulty pump or relay. All that the regulator does is regulate the pressure to the injectors and keep them consistant.

Starting

Check into the fuel pressure regulator - they're inexpensive and they're easy to change (right up on top of the motor, by the driver's side fuel rail - it's the small mushroom-looking device with vacuum lines going into it). If it's messed up, it'll give too little or too much pressure to the fuel rails and can either cause the troublesome starting or the flooding.
