Lack of power / stalling at junctions

I have the last of the Y plates Grand Vitara's Petrol. I am at a lose hence the message, when driving my car i notice a lack of power, when at junctions the power drops to almost 0 revs and dies, i can then drive it for an hour and she will tick over with no problems, but then a while later, again at she willgo back to a lack of power and no power or turn over when coming to a junction. two garages cannot find the problem and say that the computer says the car is fine. Any ideas. Other than that the car is great. Cheers.

. There are no wires per se on this engine, only boots. While you're in there, replace the ignition housing. That's the plastic box that the coils are mounted in. It's like a distributor cap and can develop carbon tracks in it.

Have any lights ever come on the dash at all while you are driving? how many miles are on the vehicle? Where are you located? Once I have more information I can try and assist you further.
Thanks,

This could also happen due to bad fuel (dirt in the fuel). the main reason i see i insufficant fuel supply to the engine. so get the fuel pump and fuel injector.

Hi I have a 2012 grand vitara 2.4 petrol and the oil light comes on intermittantly when driving.

Did you check your oil level? If it is full then there may be air getting into the pump somehow. This happened to me years ago when the pickup tube cracked that went to my oil pump. Could become something that will kill your engine.

if manual , it could be worn clutch or oil and grease on the clutch plate linings --broken engine mounts--misfiring

Have you tried checking the catalytic? This is for filtering the gases from the combustion and can be one of causes of the power failure.

Petrol flap for suzuki grand vitara

Hiya,

Can you be specific what exactly your problem is with regards to the petrol flap on your Suzuki Grand Vitara? Is this an issue for where you can get spare pats, or is this a component problem, such as that you cannot open or close the flap?

I look forward to hearing from you soon

Yours sincerely

Do i need lock tool to change cam belt on a 03 grand vitara

I'd be first confirming whether you have a 1.6 litre Grand Vitara (petrol), or a 2 litre turbo diesel. The 2 litre petrol (straight 4 or V6) or 2.5 litre petrol engines are all chain drive.
If your engine is petrol then no lock tool is required (to hold the camshaft). Of course, there is a specific position that an engine should be rotated too before removing the belt from ANY engine.
If it's diesel, then although I'm unfamilar with that particular engine, the general requirement for diesel engines with high pressure injection pumps is "yes, you require a lock tool" to hold the injection pump pulley. As I think these are a common rail set-up, this requirement may not be necessary. Check with your Suzuki Dealer, or maybe someone else here will know more. A similar question may have already been asked and answered here too.

2000 Suzuki Vitara will not start when engine hot. Runs fine and starts well when cold. On investigation - no spark. any Ideas, Paul

Hi! My friend and I have experienced similar problem with each of our Suzuki Grand Vitara 2000 (his) and 2002 (mine). He discovered (two years ago) that cooling the "camshaft rotary sensor" by pouring (normal) water (which I also did just last week) and it works to start & run the car until the next pull-over. You have to redo pouring water if you stop the endine and does not re-start. But this may be just an emergency solution wherein you have to let the car be serviced by a mechanic.
