Question about 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse

2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse

I have a 2006 Eclipse GT V6 and I am having numerous issues with the steering wheel controls not working properly. They will switch functions (the up volume turns the radio down, the up track repeats the track and the down track button will lower the volume). I have had this car for 2 months and it has been in the shop 6 times. They have replaced the buttons hoping this would fix it but it has not. The next issue is that on certain occasions when starting the car, the car will turn on but the A/C, radio and sunroof controls are all blank and do not function. Also the airbag/seatbelt light came on and all of the seat sensors were replaced. The car is still under warranty but it is a big hassle going to the dealer once a week.

There is a federal law that states that a vehicle must be repurchase by the dealer if the vehicle is serviced by them for the same issue 3 times in one months time. Despite the contrary lemon laws do exist. and the issue has been not resolved so demand they replace it with a new vehicle or refund your total purchase and go elsewhere. please rate this thanks

Take it back to the dealer and either have them diagnose, reprogram, or replace the computer / module(s) that control those items. i'm willing to bet that there was a liquid spill / spike in the electrical system and or broken / damaged computer, module. all of these items are controlled by some computer/module somewhere.

Where is the o2 sensor located on a 2006 mitsubishi eclipse gt 3.8v6 sensor 1 bank 1

Hi, your Eclipse is like Mitsubishi 380 V6. Bank 1 Exhaust is toward the radiator & sensor 2 would be attached to the exhaust pipe after your Catalytic converter. That is the second Oxygen Sensor on the front exhaust pipe which would be under the motor toward the muffler.
You can take a look at your exhaust pipe right it before it goes into your catalytic converter. Thats the approximate location of a great many o 2 sensors

I have a '06 Eclipse GT V6 with 40K miles on it. I called the Mitsubishi service department to do either 30K or 60K scheduled maintenance. They have marked down on the quote sheet for automatic...

You need to do the trans fluid and power steering every 30,000 miles on all vehicles. Forget what they say
I used to own a trans shop.
Flush Brake fluid every two years
Coolant every three
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter 30,000 miles.

I would stay far away from the dealer
Go to a local shop

Change a crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 eclipse

Is this a V6 or 4cyl???>>>(V6) This requires removing the Harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). Remove (R) front wheel, remove engine splash Guard, Remove crank pulley, remove lower timing belt cover. The Crank sensor is located behind the crank shaft pulley!! I highly recommend having this done by a certified tech, requires special tools. Hopefully this helps!!
