Question about 1999 Honda Odyssey
I have a problem with a rattle under the dash when the A/C is on. I have traced it to a small motorized controller under the dash on the passenger side that is almost behind the center console (?) between the two sides. It is the lower part under the dash. This motorized controller has has a cam and and an arm on it that apparently control vent doors (or something similar). The noise is caused by the motor constantly randomly oscillating, as if it is receiving signals to open and close and a high rate (2-3 times/sec). I have reached up under the dash to feel the metal rods connected to it and I can feel it randomly turning one way then the next with varying amplitudes. I have taken apart the controller and nothing is wrong with it. The problem is in the signals being sent to it.
I am presuming that I have a problem with either an electronic controller that sends the single to this motorized controller, or with one of the sensors providing data to the electronic controller. I have no idea how to proceed to track down the faulty component.
