Oh sorry!  Yes the turn signals work, and the reverse lights work.  Looking at each bulb you can clearly see the double fillaments, and they are all intact.
    Thank you for your attention.

Ok thank-you.  How should I check it?  Should I replace it and see if that makes a difference?  Or is there a better way to test it?

Almost has to be the brake switch on the brake petal.I can't think of anything else since the signals work.

My driver side brake light went out but the tale light still works bulb is new

Hi Jimmy.

Most every circuit in a car goes through a fuse. if you look in your owners manual for the particular vehicle you drive, you should find a listing for a fuse for brake light or brake lights. The tail light being OK should not have anything to do with the brake light. They'll be different bulbs, or, at worst, different filaments in the same bulb, and on different fuses. The brake and tail lights are distinct because otherwise, if you had your tail lights on at night, no one could tell you were pressing your brakes.

If you were meaning that the bulb for the brake light in the tail cluster is good, that also will point to a blown fuse. Check there first.

Good Luck

Brake light

Look closely at the filaments in the left brake bulb. If they are touching internally, this can happen. If the bulb looks ok then the wiring to the bulb is shorted

disconnect turn signal switch wires @ column, put power to wires to brake lights. that cks wiring to lights. next put power to wires through turn signal to ck switch. Power runs from brake light switch to turnsignal switch, to lights.

Brake lights do not owrk

First check for a blown fuse. If fuses are good, pop a brake light out and look to see if the element in the bulb is bad. If bulbs are good, use a tester of some sort to check for power in the socket. Remember that the brakes must be pressed in for this. If no power there, it could be a shorted wire or possibly the actuator under the dash by the pedal has issues. With a continuity tester and some patience, (and some electrical understanding) you will trace it down easily.

No brake lights! Fuse is fine, brakes work fine, bulbs are fine, all other lights work. Where do I find the pressure activated switch to the brake lights?

are you sure the fused is good , bulbe good
, - check in the trunk to see is the wire connector is disconnected. will if not , look wher the brakes peddle is , there is a switch there , disconnect the wire connetion and check to see if you have power at both side , now there must be power on one side , used a wire and bridge the connection , check and see it the brakes light is on . if on , then you know that the brakes switch is bad, reply

Right brake light out; tail light works fine

most rear tail lights and turn/stop lights are the same dual filiment bulb. it is possible for your tail light to work and your brake light not to and still have a bad bulb. I would check the bulb first, your brake light works on the left yes? this would mean that the fuse is fine
