The brake lights do not work.  The running lights work, bulbs light up, fuse is good, wiring looks ok, actuator on the brake looks what else could it be?

    Oh sorry!  Yes the turn signals work, and the reverse lights work.  Looking at each bulb you can clearly see the double fillaments, and they are all intact.
    Thank you for your attention.

    Ok thank-you.  How should I check it?  Should I replace it and see if that makes a difference?  Or is there a better way to test it?

Almost has to be the brake switch on the brake petal.I can't think of anything else since the signals work.

I have 1991 Nissan maxima. All my lights,tail lights and brake lights work EXCEPT my left brake light. Changed the bulbs and still dont work. Can someone help?

Pull the bulb back out and look in the plug. They get corroded and the tabs will spread apart and/ or break off. Bend them back if they are there, replace it , if not.. If it looks good, you need to use an ohm meter and check continuity of the tabs to the wire. They usually break close to the plugs.

My 2004 maxima rear lights dont work but brake lights do can it be a fuse or the bulb

Could be either one. I'd start by checking the fuse, and if it is okay then checking the bulb. Both sides could have the bulb go out at the same time, but it is more likely the fuse, and the brake lights work off a different circuit. Hope this helps. Good luck :O)

Brake lights and tag wont come on .changed bulbs fuses and brake sensor on pedal still wont work-91maxima

Check the ground connections. I've had good bulbs that didnt work because there was a bad ground leading to the bulbs socket.

tail lights work on a different filament than the rest of the lights you mentioned, it is possible both bulbs are burned out for that filament. if not, check the fuses as the tail light circuit in some cars is on a seperate fuse. the remaining possibility could be bad socket contacts.

Replaced tail light fuse, which turned on tail

most likely you have a short in one of the bulb connectors or the hot wire from them is pinched on medal somewhere. Or you have water intrusion shorting one out. Inspect the bulbs. Leave both bulbs out. install fuse. Press brake pedal several times and hold. Inspect fuse. if its blown its the pedal switch that's bad or a pinched wire from there. If good put one bulb in. Test again,, then the next bulb. If you see something obvious fix it.

Brakes lights dont work left and right; bulb lights are ok;

Check the wiring also, to the light, any bare wiring could fault it from working. Do you know if the bulb is okay? If not take it to your local AutoZone or Car part manufacturer and take the bulb out and take it inside, they'll find the bulb fo you.
