Question about 1998 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

1998 gmc sierra truck

I have asked this question to you and you told me to check the camshaft pos. sensor when I explained that it turns on fine but when I push the accelerator a little it turns off, it remains on with no problem if I don't push the gas, I have changed the fuel pump, the distriutor cap and the rotor and the pressure valve, and the fuel filter,

I will appreciate your prompt response.

Regards.

No spark or fire to plugs

Sounds like a bad crank position sensor or a bad camshaft position sensor.... If the sensors can't tell the ecm where the position the crankshaft or camshaft is, the ecm won't know when to send a spark. So the ecm won't send any spark.

1998 Jeep Cherokee -- car won't start. Turns over

have scanned to find problem code to get an idea of what it is. .it may either be the crank or cam sensor, check the crank sensor first. if it is bad it sends wrong timing info to pcm. therefore jeep will not start!! It is either the camshaft or crankshaft positioner. I would check the crank pos. first. Zach Cabot, AR

1996 gmc sierra will start but wont turn over replaced fuel pump and fuel filter

If the check engine light is on, rent a scanner, read out any code(s), and pursue to repair(s). If no ignition along with fuel, the crankshaft/camshaft sensor may be defective. The above scan should identify the problem.

Code 1345

P1345 - Crankshaft Position (CKP)-Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation

Try adjusting the sensor. if this doesn't work, replace it asap.
