I have a 1994 mercury grand marquis. The cruise control stopped working today so I believe a fuse blew out. Can you tell me what is the number slot in the fuse box that is for cruise control? Thank you

Hi Debbie,

First I think it should be said that whatever is wrong with your cruise control it is definitely NOT caused by a fuse. Fuses do not cause electrical circuits to fail. Failing electrical circuits case fuses to blow.

With that said, there are 2 fuses that affect your cruise control operation:
Fuse #6 (10 Amp) and Fuse #7 (15 Amp), both of which are located in the instrument panel fuse block. Fuse #6 is the power feed to the cruise control servo and Fuse #7 is the brake lamp fuse, which provides power to let the cruise control servo know when you have applied the brake.

Location of 2 amp fuses in cruise control 1992 grand marquis

The cruise control fuse is a 15 amp fuse located at position #17 in the fuse block. That's the only fuse I see in that circuit according to My wiring diagram. I hope this helps. Take care.

The speed control light does not come on and the speed control does not work.

Fuse number 1 (15amp blue fuse) located under the dash is the primary fuse for the cruise control servo...check that first...Also, if i recall correctly there was a mandatory recall notice issued in 2005 for this model related to cruise control failures. Check with your local Lincoln Mercury dealer for more information. You will need your VIN number to see if the repairs on your vehicle have been made. Good luck, i hope this helps.

Horn cruise control and cigarette lighter and other direct current plug are all out of commision is this all the same problem

Could be a fuse or two that blew out. Check fuse box and pull out fuses and inspect starting with the cig lighter fuse, horn fuse, cruise ctrl, and anything labeled as such.

94 grand marquis cruise control does not work and air bag lite blinks on and off. Are these two problems associated together ?

Hello dogjasper.
Both of these issues will be caused by a part under the steering wheel called a "clockspring".
This part allows the transfer of electrical energy through a plastic spring with wire leads impregnated into it.
The plastic over time will crack and the wire along with it.
The clockspring carries current for both the air bag and your cruise control.
The steering wheel will need to be removed to access this part to be replaced.

Cruise Control - 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS - not working

Your manual should tell you that. Also check your brake light switch by the brake pedal. It also disengages the cruise. If it is bad the cruise will not work but the brake lights may still work.
