Question about 2000 Honda Accord
Hi, my 2000 Accord LX, 4 speed automatic, 116 thousand miles, has the check engine light on and Auto Zone told me I got the error codes P1457 and P1739. I'm particularly concerned about the latter, which says automatic transaxle concern, because I can't afford a new transmission. Any ideas what could be wrong with my car and how to remedy it?
Thanks so much in advance!
A very common late 90's code, P1457 is a failure in one of the evap
system solenoid valves. There are 2 culprits, the Vent Control Valve
& the 2 Way Bypass Valve. So, start working with those and see if you can get the 1457 code off of it.
I also looked around about the 1739 code as well which a transaxle error. However, I've found that there has been more than enough reported cases of problems of the such. Take a look at this link, and do a little reading.
I hope this helps you out.
