drcoolc299... Thanks for the solution...worked like a CHAMP!!!! Local repair shop stated that I would need to bring it in and have a component repalced on the circuit board....probably would have cost around $300.00.... I appreciate the help... once again..Thank You!!!!

try this solution, start the engine, turn on ac and leave it on then turn off the engine keys to kill the engine then turn it back on with out starting it. leave it as it is.

take the positive cable from the battery and wait 10 mins, return the cable , turn the ignition key off and then start the car. test your a/c.

    i hope this would work.

    tnx 4 using fixya,

    drcool

I have a 2004 GMC Sierra, the battery was going out and I changed it, I had never had a problem with my ac, but after the battery change it would only blow hot air. I tried what you suggested and my ac is good to go again. Thanks for sharing

2005 GMC Sierra 1500 - heater blows, but only cold air

Check coolant level. Check for heat at the heater hose going from water pump to heater core at firewall. Check to see that cable is moving coolant control valve from the closed to open position. Low mileage so it shouldn't be plugged heater core.

Changed batteries and climate control not working properly

The actuator has gone bad. They can be programed, and reset, but usaly they are bad, and that will only patch the problem for a while.
