Question about 2005 Toyota Corolla

1 Answer

My 05 Corolla stop running.

My 2005 Toyota Corolla is making a humming noise. It starts when I turn the car on and continues to hum when I drive and goes off when I turn the car off. It sounds like it's coming from the back of the car, I check underneath and under the hood and could find where its coming from. My car cut off on me and now wont start up, it acts like it wants to turn over but wont. 2 people have check it when I was on the side of the road and said it probably the fuel pump. Is this true? Thanks for your response in this matter.

Sounds like you need a fuel pump. The first indication of a fuel pump issue is a hum or drone noise.

Humming noise driving

Check the transmission fluid easy fix. The humming noise could be road noise and can't do anything about that, but if it is coming from any certain area around the vehicle would be helpful in finding a solution. Check rear wheel bearings for loose worn or damaged areas. Hope this Helps

Ford focus making humming noise while driving on right side. stops when turning to right

If this noise is only while moving, I found a possible solution some time back. On the right side of this car (if I remember right) mounted on the subframe, there is a carrier bearing on that axle shaft. On this particular car, the bearing was still good but the u-shaped bracket it sits in was broken which allowed for humming and vibration. There was also a bad motor mount which also created a "humming" (I guess you could call it) and that was there while the car was stopped and running. The "humming" would change with the rpms. I hope this has helped to pin point your problem. Please let me know how this worked out for you or if there's anything else I can help you with. Thanks and good luck!

Humming noise coming from the front of an 04 Toyota Corolla. I just replaced both front hub bearings. The noice is still there, it starts as a mild roar and increasis to a hum at high speeds. It does...

Differential in trans axle

Won't be long before the trans will
have to come out

Save your money,lots of it

Flush the Power Steering Fluid, to see
if it makes any difference in sound

Won't do anything for trans, but both
fluids get changed every 30,000 miles,
so get caught up on those two.
