You can unplug the ABS, and it will be disabled. Doesn't sound like that's the problem, though. Have your front end checked, brakes, suspension, wheels, CV axles, everything. Before it cripples you on the road.
I have 4 new tires, all dynamicaly balanced; had front and rear end alignment done, had oil change and lube job (to make sure all grease fittings were lubed); had new rotors and pads installed; had suspension system checked out, and PepBoys head mechanic drove car and determined that the ABS brakes was the culprit. He suggested I take it to a service center that had the correct diagnosis software to find and fix Daewoo problems.
My son, who does a lot of work on his own cars, suggested that there might be a certain type of rotor that is specifically designed for ABS brakes. He says there may be grooves or slots that monitor the speed and wheel revolutions to determine when to apply the ABS brakes. He wasn't really sure, though.
How do I disconnect the ABS brakes? Do I just pull the fuse? Or is there some wiring I have to disconnect? It appears that it is definitely the brakes because it only comes on when I press the brake pedal. If I take my foot off the pedal and reapply the brakes, the noise and bucking stops.
Sounds like you're on top of it. Try pulling the fuse, first, see if that works.
