As far as I know you need to replace the ECU, Immobilizer and the key switch as they are all programmed to talk to one another. You will need to re-program the replacement ECU.

piston tdc no1 and follow valves so no1 with both valves closed then look for mark ,seem to remember its up top on the cover somewhere ,and crank keyway points up as well

renew the whole unit ,the resistor in the motor unit is finished ,the thin wire is controling the feed into the motor via a earth resistance in the ballast resistor ,hence variable speed .But you should have a 12v supply via the red cable if you havent then thats your problem ,a loose connector ?? fuse ,fuse holder, broken wire
