Possessed Radio!!! The radio in my 1990 F-150 will not stay at one volume level.... it will shoot up and down in volume whenever it wants. It has caused me to not use it at all.... any ideas what might be wrong here?

does this stereo have an accellerator control that turns the volume up and down when the truck speeds up, and could there be a short or something in that function? i'm hoping to do a quick fix and not have to purchase a whole new stereo.

Sounds like the volume controle needs to be cleaned...you ca buy a switch cleaner at radio shack or at cdn tire.

Check engine light would have nothing to do with this ! Check engine light is for engine codes ! there is a problem with the radio it self ! or SJB - smart junction box , ford's BCM - body control module . You should take it to a qualified repair shop . or ford dealer !

What exactly is the type of blaring sound level are we talking about? If it doesn't nds like the sound is coarse and skips, possibility is the OEM radio's amp is not enough. If the sound is rippled and metallic, change your speakers to a higher wattage output.

I got a BMW 750i 2006 and when I got the radio on and give it gas the volume goes up and down... People say it's the amp is it...

The radio volume goes up when you give it Gas this intern hides engine noise. This is very common with higher end cars
There is a adjustment on the radio that will set the level you wish the volume to go up when accelerating, its a nice factory option to have there is nothing wrong with your BMW.

2007 Saturn Aura XE, the audible alarms can hardly be heard

Good news - they're adjustable. The radio is used to adjust the vehicle's chime level. To change the volume level of the chime, press and hold push-button 6 with the ignition on and the radio power off. The volume level will change from the normal level to loud, and LOUD will appear on the radio display. To change back to the default or normal setting, press and hold push-button 6 again. The volume level will change from the loud level to normal, and NORMAL will appear on the radio display.

Note: Each time the chime volume is changed, three chimes will sound to indicate the new volume selected.

Radio volume goes up and down when its on a low volume not on high

Check the dealer and see if your radio automatically adjust to your speed. Some radios were built to raise the volume when driving at higher speeds and when you get in slow traffic or when you stop it would automatically adjust down the volume. You can also go to a Radio Shack and get a spray cleaner for electrical parts and pull the volume knob off of your radio and spray the volume control and turn it rapidly to remove any hidden dirt on that volume control.

2005 Lincoln LS - possessed

The LS has several onboard computers that share information on a network. If something on this system shorts or spikes it can cause all kinds of crazy things like this. One of the main culprits for this is ignition coil packs but the coolant control valve has been known to cause these problems also.I suspect that the latter may be the case for you since you only have heat. It mounts to the fan shroud on the passenger side of the car.Try unhooking it and see if this stops the traction control light and parking brake light from coming on.
