it could be several things. poor quality gas, a weak thermostat indicating to the computer the engine is colder than it is because it opens too soon. it could be a bad temp sensor saying the same thing to the computer so the computer allows more fuel. you may need a tune-up, it could be the way the car is driven, jump start from lights or lead foot.
Jumping like a hard shift? I learned a hard lesson from this same symptom. I thought it was the transmission going out on me... it wasn't.
Check your engine mounts for damage first. If the car jumps while driving too, check your MAF (mass airflow sensor) for some reason it jacks with the transmission.
well 3.8 engine is not suppose to burn much gas.check for low tire pressure.if engine got many miles on it it will burn more gas,if you live in city making short stops burn more gas,if you driving a lot of roads with steep hills and mountains car will burn more gas.lead foot quick acceleration speed driving burn lots of gas.
hello, you may need to have engine tuned up, have choke checked out, usually all the lights, bells and whistles will come on after it dies.because you are having to start engine again, when first starting engine, see what all lights comes on, then when engine dies it should be the same lights coming on when first starting engine, thats pretty normal ,have all filters checked out like gas filter, air filter etc
Take it to a real mechanic, not the phoney physics at the zone. The speed sensor will not respond if the car is not moving. May be an air flow sensor. They will go bad if it has ever been wet. They can be checked with a scan tool.
