Gas pedal non responsive from a stop

Unexplainable behavior with V6 model. My wife informed me while at a stop light when she proceeded to go when light turned green she pushed the gas pedal and the car did not accelerate. All the lights turned on in the instrument panel including the engine light. Engine stayed on and she barely had enough power to coast to the side of the street. She turned the engine off waited a minute then restarted the car. At that point the car then returned to running normal. We took it to our honda mechanic (non dealer) and he ran several tests. Unfortunately the service enigine and the other lights were no longer on. He checked the electrical system and battery and determined we needed a new battery. We replaced the battery and thought that took care of the problem. I switched vehicles and drove car for three weeks with no problem. I was having doubts until it happened to me. While at stop car would not move forward. The pedal was nonresponsive. The engine light came on. I coasted to the curb turned engine off then restarted then had power. My mechanic thinks it might be one of the on board computers but said without car acting up while in his shop it is hard to detect problem. He suggested taking it to the dealer to have it checked out. Any ideas on the fix?

Is the Check Engine light on? (If so-Have the codes read and deal with those issues first) If not-Perform the throttle relearn procedure with a compatible scan tool, also known as "Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) relearn". This may require the factory scan tool. That should get the throttle response back to original factory spec.

Sounds just like my experience with what turned out to be a bad Mass Air Flow meter. No warning, just very bad behavior from the engine, and heavy foot on throttle to get it going. Happened to my Wife. You can imagine the result when she got home. But thank goodness for cell phones!

2007 Land Cruiser stalls to idle and non responsive to gas pedal

Had exact same problem after driving 120 miles in Florida heat. After 30 minutes started but ran rough for a day and now seem fine. Thought at first fuel filter or dirty gas. Going to replace filter anyway. Is this a common problem?

The clutch is not fully releasing. You can try putting it into some other gear first, then rapidly moving to first gear, but really, you need to either adjust the clutch, or get it repaired.

Not knowing what engine and drive-train you have I would say it is either be a bad throttle accuator or throttle position sensor . you will need to take it to ford to be scanned

I have a 1999 GMC Safari. Van will drive fine for

see when you say you step on it, and the vehicle stalls, it sounds as if it bein starved of step on it, and therefore the demand is there, but not the supply. to prevent itself from over heating, the fuel pump shuts off...after a moment of cooling off, it fires right back up...get it checked at your the strainer on the bottom of the pump, and fuel filter as it time for a tune up yet?
