Thanks for the reply. Would rain on the sensors cause a humming noise?

Hi cannot see the rain affecting the gearbox but rain can affect the sensors that tell your box what to do just for saftey reasons make sure alls well on your front wheels [no loose joints play in bearings tires ok if its ok] check all your wiring connecters to your sensors by dissconnecting them check them for signs of water contamination then clean them and grease the joints try again yates210456

Motor seems to missfire a little at idle on a 2000 Pontiac Grand

Sounds like you have a bad mount if it is vibrating at idle, and goes away with RPMs. Most of them I see are the front motor mount, not the front of the car, but the front/timing side of the engine. Easy way to tell is to take a pry bar and pry up while engine is running. If it goes away, you have found the mount.
