Go to any part store and ask them to run a diagnostic test on your car. Its free & it will tell you which sensors are bad. Good luck!

1989 S-10 started running rough, now it's not running at all.

WOW ! believe it or not you did good ! what else could it be ? does this engine have a MAS, mass air flow sensor ? sell your scanner or take it back for refund, buy a new MAS, if your engine has one, and replace your air cleaner if you haven't. this part is a major player, if you have one, make sure its an OEM replacement part, not after market ! have you checked all your VACUUM LINES, is this an automatic ? anther thing, now that I'm thinking, what kind of COIL do you have ? I would suspect your coil and all that relates to the coil ! DO THIS FIRST ! before anything else. then more on, but I have a idea that this is it, go for it, when coils get too hot they tend to go bad, how are your spark plug wires ?

How do you reset computer after removing battery, or after charging battery after it has been dead

When you restart the car, the ecm will read sensors and reset itself to adapt to inputs it receives. Let the car idle for a few minutes, no gas petal at all, then drive it gently for a few minutes-then drive it normally. Because is has adaptive memory it will adjust for your driving techniques, and within 40 or 50 miles it will be completely set.

I just turned 102000 miles.i have noticed once in a while while getting gas with the car running the idle would slow to 400 rpm amd then smoother out.my check engine light came on on a long trip recently...

I think the first thing you should do is( SHUT THE ENGINE OFF) when you are fueling up. The engine running will cause static electricity, which can cause a spark to you fuel nozzel, then boom and you are burnt up along with your car. As to you running problem when fueling up, som cars have a sensor in the fue tank mesuring tank pressure. with the cap off there is no pressure

2002 malibu wont start

check for a bad crank sensor for this controls the timing of crank shaft. and sends info to pcm. it will cause no spark or pulse at injectors.the engine may start but cut out in a few minutes or seconds, of operation. have the car scanned for the problem code, if no scanner, any auto parts store will scan for free. good luck !!

O2 sensor

1. first you need to re-set your computer. Try disconnecting the Negative battery cable for 5 minutes. If that does not reset itself, then you must go to someone with a scanner/engine analyzer & have it reset by them. Then after running it for a little while (few minutes or a few blocks) it needs to be rescanned for new trouble codes in order to see what all you did or did not get fixed to start with.
Note: .... there are LOTS of auto suppliers who will scan it for free if you buy your parts for them and or some of them will loan you the scanner to test it yourself (on their lot-location).
