Question about 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country
I just put a new ac compressor and evap.in and i cant get the clutch to come on with th dash switch, i have to jump it is there a fuse some where. i also cant get the comp. to take in any freon, iput a vaccum on it
After pulling a vacuum, you will have low pressure in the system and the low pressure switch will keep the compressor from kicking on. If you pulled a vacuum, just hook your hose up, and after you open the valve, turn the can upside down so it will take as a liquid, not a gas. The compressor will kick on after a few seconds. This is how I did mine, and I now have COLD air.

I use the freon with the guage built in to the can. It uses the Acme fitting the just snaps on to the port on the A/C line and you push a button for the freon discharge. Just make sure you open up the valves all the way on the inlet pipe to the compressor. If you are using the can in which you screw it on to the hose and tighten the valve to pierce the can with a needle, you have to make sure you back the needle out from the can for the freon to flow. I turned the A/C on high and turned the can upside down and shook it. I switched to R134A and it works every time I need to top up on freon. FYI, the clutch will not kick on until you have enough pressure from the freon. Keep adding until your guage reads good, it's easy if you have the one built in to the freon can.

Ok ... i presume you have pressure tested it and there were no leaks in the system.
aside from a fuse there should be a relay for it as well. likely located in a fuse panel near the battery in the engine compartment.
