Warm car up. With car running pull the transmission dip stick out wipe off. Reinsert the dip stick and pull back out. This should be your correct oil level. Remember when you are adding oil to your transmission use a funnel that reaches way down or make sure you allow a little time for all the oil to run down the sleeve if it has one, because you want to be very careful not to over fill the transmission or your asking for trouble.
unfortunately your car does not have a dipstick. if it is an automatic transmission, there is a specialized procedure involving the dealers scan tool to check the level.
I have a 99 Cabrio and there is no transmission dip stick. According to the manual, you cannot add transmission fluid to the transmission yourself, you have to take it to a dealer.
Hi: To Refill your Auto Transmission with Tranny Fluid, There is NO CAP, Look For a Dip Stick Similar to your Oil Dip Stick. You Refill your Transmission where the Transmission Dip Stick comes out of a Tube. You'll Need a Funnel that Fits inside the Transmission Dip Stick Tube. This Should Resolve your Question. Please Vote and That actually sends me How Well I have Helped You. OH Look Towards the middle to the Back of Your Engine to Locate Your Tranmission Dip Stick: From the WYOCWBOY
The transmission oil is located in the transmission. If you are looking for the dip stick, its on the engine and its written on the top of the stick. Do not mistake the oil dip for the transmission dip stick. It sounds as if you need someone to show it to you. Go to your nearest car parts and they will gladly show you the dip stick. I hope this was helpful.
do you mean..dip stick? oil filter? or something like that?
if it is a manual transmission they have a filler hole rather than a dip stick.........
if it is a automatic transmission the dip stick should be located under the hood in the right side "passengers side" or in the drivers side if it is a front wheel drive car....
There is no automatic transmission dip stick on your car. There is a long procedure to check and fill and you will need special fluid from VW. Better left to the dealer. If you want the procedure let me know.
its fairly easy to be honest.you only need the tool to check transmision temp.it should be checked at a temp of 40 degrees c.so i reckon 10-15 mins from cold on idle(dont drive it ) should be about right.then remove the plug in the sump.this exposes a tube that goes in to the sump that is the right length so that only excess oil will drain out.Bassicaly the tube allows the sump to drain until the correct ammount of oil is in there.if you need to top up there is a short tube with a red cover over the top of it.remove this and top up until oil drains out the sump from the hole where the sump plug goes.go here for a picture that explains all....... http://www.2carpros.com/forum/transmission-fluid-vt159056.html
