Flapping noise

A flapping noise is sometimes the noise made by a drive belt that is destroying itself, though in your case it might have a different cause.

You need to lift the bonnet and see what is going on, something you should have done when you first heard the noise as a flapping drive belt could damage wiring, brakes and anything else in the vicinity. I once warned a guy about his belt which he decided to leave until payday only for him to call me out later as the flapping belt had ruined the radiator.

My car is making an awful groaning grinding noise noise when it starts. The noise stops after it starts. Put my foot on the brake it starts again. put thr car in reverse no problem put it in,drive it...

It's your exhaust mounts or broken exhaust bolts. It does it in drive st idle n under load because the motor is sitting in rubber mounts made to dampen vibration. Therefore the motor tilts to the left in reverse pulling the exhaust away from your under carraige, and to the right in drive causing the loose exhaust to vibrate against something. Check your heat shields also. They fall apart n do the same noise. Piece of cake.

2004 ford expolorer air conditioning will not stay on

I would suspect the AC compressor cycling switch (located in low pressure line from compressor) or a AC cutoff wide open throttle relay ( in under hood fuse and relay center) would be causing this problem.

2001 jeep grand cherokee wont blow air through vents

there is a flap to redirect the air flow under the dash, it may be an item like a pen :) that has dropped down the vent opening stopping it from moving to redirect the air ... failing that, one of the motors/cables that operate the flap has failed

AC blowing heat and air at same time

Yeah Ron, the flap that covers the heater core is open and when you're moving the air is pushed over the heater core and into the cab your in. Possibly just a vacuum line of that controls said flap. Check all vacuum lines for good proper connection to these flaps because all of them are vacuum actuated.

Pop! flap flap flap!! mystrerious

I had the same sound that you mentioned. I found it to be the roof rack sliding backwards. Tightened it and the noise went away. Occasionally, it will make the same noise, depending on the wind, but I have always found it to be stopped by tightening the roof rack. Hope this helps.
