Question about 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I have an automatic transmission 1999 Silverado 1500 and today it started surging when the accelerator is depressed. At about 10mph the truck will start surging like someone is pumping the brake pedal. I limped it home from town, and when I take my foot off the accelerator and let it idle in gear going down hills it is fine. Any ideas????
What it means is it is slipping. now the first thing you can do is drop the oil out of it and change the filter. add lucas trans additive and go for a couple of days if the problem goes away as often times it does it's because the valve body inside the trans is gummed up, and the lucas removes this. if the problem persists it could be either a defective engine speed sensor or a faulty trans control module. i would take it to a shop and have them hook a scan tool to it. it will show which one is the fault. please rate this.
