Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

Lighting I was driving at night and both headlights went out. I put the emergency flashers on and headed back to my house, within a couple of miles the lights came back on. I had the connections and fuses checked and they seem to be OK! Has there been a problem with wiring that would cause this problem. Of course it is Sat. afternoon and the dealership is closed until Monday.

I have the exact same problem. I'll be driving down the road at night, and my headlights will go out, but my brights will work as well as flashers. I have no choice but to drive with my bright lights on until I get home. I will check at least 4-6 times during my drive to see if the headlights have came back on, and most of the time they do. There has been a few times they do not though.

Thanks for the suggestion of ordering a headlight relay switch. I will do that now!

Replace the headlight relay... there may be more then one... the other issue may possibly be the daytime running light module... it's on the firewall ususally.

Not sure about your question. It could be read two ways.
Way #1: (When I put my emergency lights on it effects my headlights.)
If there is an effect, you could have a shorted ground wire, allowing current to find another way into the circuit. Visual inspection might uncover the problem.
Way #2: (When I put my emergency lights on, should it affect my headlights.)
No, If you turn on your emergency flashers, there should be no effect on your headlights.
Electrical problems can be very difficult and costly to diagnose.
Try googling your exact problem and maybe others have had the same problem.
Good Luck

I will do some research on the headlight problem. An awd system should not bind in a turn like a 4wd does on dry pavement, because the awd has a limited slip differential. And any kind of noise coming from the rearend is NOT normal. You should report the dealership employee that told you this to the factory regional representative. It borders on gross negligence.

2005 crown victoria police interceptor headlights problem

The problem is fairly common in this car. The solution is the Headlight Control Module, or Lighting Control Module. My car did the same thing, they would go off, and come right back on. Then one day they went out and stayed out for 12 minutes. I changed the HCM and they never did it again. It is a box under the dash on the drivers side, right above your right shin if you were driving.

Instrument Cluster lights do not go on, emergency lights steady- Sable 2002

Has anyone figured this problem out? Our 2002 Sable just started this as well...instrument cluster lights out, turn/hazard lights on when the headlight switch is turned on. This has the auto on/off switch with fog lights. This is happening in the auto and manual on mode. Any solutions would be appreciated.<br />

Electrical problem?

it could be the controller of the lights and not the alternator. but in the first place why did your car got low battery?.. maybe the battery is just old.

anyway, try this solution if it would work. you said you already replaced the battery, now remove the positive cable of the battery, tun on the ignition switch, turn on your headlights, and your ac,

now put the positive cable back to the battery, ( blower would run, lights would come on ) then turn off the ignition switch.

tighten the positive terminal and start the car, let me know what happen?

tnx 4 using fixya,
