Question about 1994 Jeep Cherokee Country

1 Answer

Hard to start

I have a 1994 jeep cherokee, v-8. We had problems with it missing and starting after filling up with gas. We assumed it was bad gas, and we put heet in it and it seemed to work for a couple of weeks. the other day i went out to start it and it started missing again, by the time i got it home, it would not start up again. It acts like it wants to start but it wont. For a couple of days, after it sat over night, it would start in the morning. We drove it and it missed the whole way. Turned it off, and it wouldnt start. Let it sit all day, and it started again, but continued to miss. NOw it wont start at all. Any ideas. The garage doesnt seem to know what to do with it. HELP!

What is diagnostic code 22 for a 1994 Jeep Cherokee grand limited

That code is for the engine coolant temperature sensor. "...input above maximum acceptable voltage." I would try a new temp. sensor. If that doesn't fix it, you may need to have an engine scanner hooked up, and see what the sensor is sending to the computer, and go from there.
A bad coolant temp. sensor can cause hard starting like your symptoms.

Hard to start jeep 1994 grand cherokee

If the jeep just cranks but doesn't start right away, you might have what is known as the 'delayed start check engine light problem'. Make sure the check engine light comes on, in the dash, before cranking. If the check engine light does not come on right away, then you do have the delayed start problem and the jeep ecu needs to be repaired.

1994 jeep cherokee laredo no spark after shutting offf at home. Been starting slower and missing the first few minutes before settleing out and runs smoother in the morning. Oil i sold though is the o

No spark can be caused by a bad crank position sensor, or a bad pick-up coil inside the distributor, especially if you can't find a signal to the coil with key on. You could also test the coil, or try a known good one. There is a test procedure for the crank position sensor, but you'd have to locate a repair manual for it. I think it's just running a resistance test across two terminals of the sensor harness connector with an ohmmeter. My son's Jeep had a bad pick-up coil that shut it down, and no spark.
Once you get it running, and if still hard starting, check the fuel pressure.

1994 jeep, wont start, wont run

It sounds like you may have a bad connection somewhere. Start with your battery cables and then look at all of your ground wires as well. When you try to start your jeep see if the wires from the battery get hot.
