Cooling systems are the same for all vehicles, depending on years ,, in your case all you have is a fan, relay, and sensor, controlled by a circuit with a fuse, so , always check fuses first, if bad replace,, if not, unplug the fan at the connector,, use a jumper wire to supply the fan with 12 volts direct from the battery ,, if it starts, its not the fan, if it doesn't the fan needs replacing, if that checked out to be good,, backtrack to the fan relay, ( usually the problem) locate it in the under the hood fuse box, it will be listed on the tag on the underside of the fuse box cover ( or in the owners manual itself) you should have a couple of the same relay in this box,, ( Jaguar uses the same relay for a number of items) locate the one for the fan, and switch it out for one that runs a system you know is working, start the vehicle,, and let it run until the thermostat opens,, watch the temp gauge don't let it move up to high. soon after , the fan should start , if by now the system isn't working, its going to normally be a short in that circuit, and would have to looked at by a trained professional with knowledge in electrical circuits

Were is the 2004 Jaguar x type electric radiator fans relay at?

I don't know where it is; however, my husband and I have purchased 2 cooling fan assemblies for my 2004 Jaguar x-type 3.0 AWD. Neither of them would turn on. We have since been advised by a Jag mechanic that you must have a part called the link lead in order for the fans to work properly. This is a non-admitted (by Jaguar) default in this car. Check Quality Auto Parts 800-505-5838, ext. 1047 and ask for AMY. Hope this helps Nancy

Radiator cooling fan won't come on

check the fuse and the relay ,, unplug the fan, and use a jumper to the battery to make sure the fan is working, if it is,, then its going to be a bad fuse or relay

No heat, cooling fan seems to run long after car is shut off. 2003 Jag X Type

Bad thermostat, the cooling fan relay is doing its job perfectly: it's turning the fans on at the engne control module's request, since your engine is running too hot.

Same thing happen on one 2004 X-Type. They found out that it is the antfreeze, not have enough antifreeze, because it was leaking from the pipes that lead to the radiator. The clamps on the car are not very strong, and can loosen. Check for those pipes. I bought some nice clamps that have a screw on it so you can screw it as tight as you need.

Basicly check the coolant level before you replace any thermostats or sensors, if the level is okay I'll go with a thermostat.

Keep us updated.

Why does my 2003 jaguar s type keeps overheating after I replaced the thermostat. I took i to the dealer and they told me everything checked out ok but told me to replace thermostat.

These cars are terrible for holding air pockets once the cooling system has been drained.
Run the heater on max and let the car cool, top off the coolant, and repeat the process several times. Also make sure the electric fan assy is functioning. There is a module on the side of the fan assy which occasionally fails. if the fan is working then you probably have air pockets in the cooling system.

If it over heats wat does it needs and were is the antrifreez tank?

You may have a bad thermostat, if it overheats within 10 minutes or so. I would check to see if the cooling fans are coming on. Could be the fuse or relay for the fan. The resevoir bottle is on the drivers side fender well by the strut tower. It has the orange type anti-freeze.
