Question about 2001 Dodge Dakota
My Dodge is giving me problems starting. It takes a minute for it to start and then you have to keep your foot on the gas pedal or it will stall. Must do this for the first 2-3 minutes of getting it started. My Brake and ABS lights are on in my dashboard. My radio is a CD/AM/FM AC Delco prodycts. It has a Treble and Bass knob that light up, well, those are the only two lights lighting and they blink. Going from bright to dim to off. Could this be tied into a bad computer and how can I get it fixed?
As crazy as this sounds, I think it was actually a bad battery to begin with and then a bad replacement battery. I replaced the original battery (originally the high amp option) with one from NAPA with a higher amp rating (matched to truck with their computer). The problem returned (as I said previously). I finally got frustrated enough and figured I would try another battery. I bought a Die Hard from Sears. I did a top off trickle charge and then installed it. I have not had the problem since... it's been 3 months and the truck has been great... no problems.
