Does the security light come on when you turn the key to run ,Does it go off in a few min. The proper way to reset the anti-theft system would be to turn the key to the on position for 10 min. if the light goes out in that time ,turn the key off for a few seconds . Then try an start the vehicle . If light comes back on an won't start there is a hard fault . You mite at that point wan't to do a theft system by- pass . Also have your battery checked and or charging system . A low battery , a malfuctioning charging system may cause these type problems .

1998 Plymouth Breeze Defect Summary:VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE CABLE CONNECTING THE CONSOLE SHIFTER MECHANISM TO THE IGNITION KEY CAN CAUSE A TRAPPED KEY CONDITION WHICH CAN RESULT IN A LOW FORCE REQUIRED TO DEPRESS THE SHIFT BUTTON. A COMBINATION OF APPLYING A MIS-ADJUSTED RELEASE BUTTON WITH A LOW FORCE ATTEMPT TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK WITH THE KEY IN THE LOCKED POSITION, CAN BREAK THE Sounds Sounds like a recall to me: BTW Have you checked for any recalls? You have alot on this vehicle.CONNECTING PIN IN THE SHIFTER.Defect Consequence:IF THIS HAPPENS, THE "IGNITION-PARK" INTERLOCK SYSTEM WILL BE NONFUNCTIONAL.
Remedy:DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR PROPER OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM. ANY VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL AFTER THE INSPECTION WILL HAVE THE SHIFT MECHANISM AND CABLE REPLACED WITH A "SELF-ADJUSTING" DESIGN.
Your shift lock is wired to the brake light fuse when you start your car and put you foot on the brake you should hear a acturator clicking. It is connected to the shifter. check your fuse which is located driver side fender under the hood if bad replace fuse if acturator is bad Call Honda parts you can replace this your self might want a manuel for that. Good Luck
from outside the car make sure all doors a closed completely, make sure hood and trunk are also closed. lock the vehicle with the remote, unlock it and repeat, lock and unlock. if it still wont start, put the key in the driver door lock, lock and unlock the door three times with the key, then try to start.
put the key in the ignition and tap the key farther into the cylinder and turn. should work. seems like a chrysler problem! a handy tow truck driver showed me this solution last night. you can have the cylinder replaced if this keeps happening or just keep a handy-dandy whacking object in your center console for just such an occassion!
Try using the button on the door. Remember you have a smart key so whenever you approach the vehicle and put your hand in the door handle it automatically unlocks the driver's door. To verify your vehicle is locked, lock your doors and walk away from the vehicle. Leave your key away from your vehicle and THEN approach it again. Your vehicle should still be locked. If it is opened, go to your local Lexus dealership. They will be able to correct the problem for you.
