You have a shorted brake light switch. located near the brake pedal. it is actually being pushed by the brake pedal. replace if necessary.

How can i fix brake lights on 2004 ford sportstrac

There's a switch on the brake pedal arm, the switch controls the brake lights. It may need an adjustment or replacement.
Hope this helps.

2004 ford explorer abs light constant and 4x4 blinking any ideas?

According to the manual pg 10. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/04expog3e.pdf
Anti-lock brake system: If the ABS light stays illuminated or
continues to flash, a malfunction has been detected, have the system
serviced immediately. Normal braking is still functional unless the brake warning light also is illuminated.

2004 Ford Explorer- Brake lights remain on even when vehicle parked/off.....? What can I check/fix? Please & thank you!

check under dash on steering column above brake pedal for the brake light switch, check for proper adjustment. Push in on switch and have someone check for lightt to turn off. if it goes off then adjust switch so it makes quicker contact with brake pedal bracket. If it wont turn off then i would expect the switch is bad. But remember i am not there to do a hands on inspection but this is the most common senario

My break lights on 2004 ford explorer will not turn off

The brake light switch is out of adjustment or faulty. The switch is under the drivers side dash and above the brake pedal arm. Look there with a light and you will see it. It is held in place with a nut on each side of the plunger. This is also how you adjust the switch. It should be adjusted so that the lights are activated when the brake pedal is depressed about 1/2 inch. If adjustment will not cure the problem replace the switch.
