How to drain coolant

They do clog up and will not drain. You probably found the drain. Pull the lower radiator hose. If you have access to air and can shoot it up in the hole. This might help you problem.

Cant find cooling system drain **** need to flush radiator

Welcome to the club! The drain is a plastic plug in the radiator tank. Yours is most likely located on the driver's side radiator tank at the bottom. (I don't even bother looking for the things any more - too time-consuming) It is almost impossible to access and usually breaks if you DO manage to get it opened. the easiest way to drain the cooling system is to take the lower radiator hose loose. You will need pliers that are made for squeezing the hose clamps to accomplish this. You can get it done by other methods, but there will be a lot of cussing and hair-pulling going on.

I can't locate the ac / condenser drain plug on 2004 grand cherokee limited. looked every where.

The drain plug is at the bottom of the radiator, close by the lower radiator hose. If you have a radiator without the drain plug, disconnect the radiator lower hose (radiator side) to drain the radiator. Be sure to connect it back together after you flush the system, and before you top it off.

I want to learn how to drain and flush my radiator. I need help on how to do so without making as mess

well its bound to make a little mess but you should have a drain plug on the radiator at the bottom towards the engine side on one of the 2 tanks (sides of radiator ) unscrew drain plug and let drain into a pail or pan ( 2 gallon ) after it drains remove lower radiator hose. use a garden hose and fill radiator and let it flush for a little, hook lower radiator hose back, tighten drain plug and fill with a 50/50 mix new antifreeze,

Where is engine coolant drain plug located on 3.4

Should be at the bottom of the radiator. If you are unable to find it, just disconnect the bottom radiator hose, from the radiator, and reconnect it once finished draining.

How do I flush the radiator in a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. Need all the steps.

Well you can purchase a Prestone Flushing Kit, that includes a T valve with a cap that you can remove to connect a garden hose to, that you would install in line in one of heater hoses. Install the T valve, connect a garden hose to the T valve, remove the radiator cap and turn on the garden hose, once you have clear water coming out the radiator, turn off the hose and disconnect it and install the T valve cap. Then on the other tank that doesn't have the radiator cap, at the bottom of that tank, is a petcock, unscrew it to drain the radiator. Drain the water out and close the drain and refill the radiator.

HOW DFO YOU DRAIN THE RADIATOR OF 2002 3.4l MONTE

it should have a drain plug on the inner bottom that twist out. If not the bottom rad. hose will be fine to remove. I drain the water, and then run water through it with the hose still off. Replace the plug or hose and put in a cooling system cleaner (prestone) and fill with water. Start the car and let run for until it reaches a normal running temp, keep running for 5 min. urn engine off, let it cool and drain water. I then flush it again with water to remove any rust or gunk left in. I do this until I see good clear water running out. Reinstall your plug or hose and fill with (anti-freeze) be sure to get the right anti-freeze, some take a different color. If you use 50/50, it will take 3-4 to fill or 1 straight anti-freeze with mixture of water until full. Good luck

2000 Chevrolet Impala Radiator flush Where is the valve to flush it out

On the bottom of the radiator is a valve to drain the radiator. Now if your are trying to do a flush you will have to get a kit and put a flush T in one of your heater lines. Also there is a plug on the engine block just above the oil pan that will drain the water from the block.

Does the cooling system from a 2002 Grand Cherokee can be purged. It's heating; there's no water leaks at all.

I usually will flush a cooling system when I change radiator fluid every 3-4 years. There are many ways to do this, I frequently will just open the draincock on bottom of radiator, run engine, and allow to drain out with a hose in the radiator to replace. This works better if you pull the thermostat, and it's always nice if you actually drop a hose from bottom of radiator to drain.

Oh, and while running engine and flushing, make sure heater is on full hot to flush the heater core.

Where is the drain plug for coolant system on 1999 Plymouth Breeze 2.4 DOHC. Or do I just disconnect hose at bottom radiator. All I want to flush the system and replace coolant.

on one side of the radiator near the bottom is a petcock. open the petcock to drain. Take the radiator cap off to do this to allow it to vent so it will drain out.
If you cant find it, remove the bottom hose off the radiator. This is messy but effective.
