PO172 Bank 1 system too rich.PO175 Bank 2 system too rich. The tps may be bad. or the MAP sensor. They both control the fuel system.

I do not have a legend with me to tell what the code means. My obd scanner gives definition along with the codes. I recommendations that you hook it up with scanner and judging by the symptoms it will likely be the egr or idle control valve or a combination of both. When a vehicle runs rich it normally fouls the o2 sensor and another code will appear when repairs are completed. If you have a code checker it should have come with a legend and if it is a special code some haynes manuals go into code definitions so never fear. An o2 sensor will not cause it to stall at idle but egr and idle control valves will. They are expensive so be sure before replacement. As for the code meanings 170 is bank 1 fuel malfunction and 172 is fuel trim too rich. This means that you either got a defective egr valve or fuel regulators causing a rich condition. In other words tour vehicle is overfueling either because of the egr or fuel regulator. Idle control is not an issue so disregard that earlier assumption.

2005 Dodge Dakota SLT V8: Why is the coolant reservoir always appear to be bone dry?

It should never be bone dry. The coolant should be topped up to be between the marks. Did you read the Owner Manual?

My 2005 Dodge Dakota is having issues starting, it would start a couple times but would idle then shut itself off, while driving would shut off as soon as I released (something??).

You ran 20 volts into a 12 volt system?!?! You exceeded the specs of the electronics by 6 volts, so you will have damaged electronic computer components. You will need an auto electrician with a pro grade $5,000 scan tool computer to diagnose what modules and sensors have failed due to the over-voltage.

Need a fuse diagram for a 2005 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4x4

Look underneath the cover for the main fuse box under the hood. It should have a diagram for all the main fuses along with the sizes and the relays.

Will start then die.

if it starts runs and dies instantly, the fuel pump could be the culprit, its getting the signal to sqirt fuel to start but then no voltage to continue pressure.. check fuel pump and also worse case senerio is the ECU (main computer could be bad)
